America After the Binge, Glenn Beck Brings Recovery 101 to CPAC By Bill Miller America has been on a bender, consuming copious amounts of entitlements.  She has been playing the big shot, purchasing entitlements for other countries, wrapping her arm around foreign states, she buys a round for the planet, and declares she is everybody’s friend, only to pick a fight a minute later. She has been refusing to see the problem, she has been in deep denial, then, she elects the current administration and congress, who want to enable her to party on, instead of giving her a cup of coffee.. She passed out with bed spins, nauseous, she had to run for the toilet more then once and finally blacked out there on the bathroom floor, head by the bowl: Morning in America. America swears she is going to change and soon is out doing it again, especially enlarging the federal government. The president is hiring a group to tell him what he was elected to do. Therefore once again enlarging the federal government, asking Obama to curtail spending is like asking an alcoholic to mind the liquor store. And for all who voted for him, remember you brought this on yourself, the federal government can’t give you anything, and the next time someone in government promises to give you anything, give your wallet to the crack head on the corner, ask him to buy you a gallon of milk, and wait for the change, see what happens. I can relate, I’ve quit smoking four times already this year, and I just had a cigarette before I typed this. America has been in denial for a long time, and in particular since Johnson’s Great Society.. The federal government has been like the head of the house on a drunk, and the rest of the family wants to deny there is a problem as well. The federal government is making the states sick as well. Beck rightly points out both parties are guilty of this, these officials do not seem to realize where the federal limits are, they are forever wishing to make this creature intrude into some other business. For all you progressive republican here to is your warning shot, I don’t nor does anyone speak for the Tea Party, but I’ve been there and talked to enough people to tell you this, screw up this time with our trust, and the Republicans can follow the Whigs into the dust bin of history. We want less federal intrusion not more, do you understand? We want a reduction of federal spending not more, do you understand? We want fewer federal entitlements not more, do you understand? We want federal employees’ pay, medical and pensions to match our own, not to be better, do you understand? We want no compromises on unconstitutional acts by the progressives, do you understand? I’m directing this at you, because there is nobody even listening for the other party. Beck said in order to rectify a problem it has to be recognized, I believe that is true. Won’t go on a diet, change your eating habits, if you don’t know your fat? Hopefully this is America’s bottom, because it can always get worse, if America recognizes the problem she can begin working at it, sobering up. See her problems and work on them, practice being better, clean up some of the wreckage we caused on the binge, and once more become the beacon of hope to the rest of the world. As Beck said, Reagan was fond of saying, ". . . its morning in America." Well Reagan also liked to talk about, ". . . the Shining City on the Hill." We can be that again, but not wrapped around a toilet bowl.
