Remove Global Warming Indoctrination
from Our Schools
Jack Kemp
Jane Jamison at American Thinker http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/12/get_global_warming_out_of_our.html has a fine idea that relates to local politics, something I heard talked about, in the general sense, at Whitestone Republican Club meetings. People mentioned their kids going to schools and being told various liberal arguements - and now provable eco-lies - and they had become liberals. It is the attempt to brainwash our kids into being eco-freak global warming advocates based on false science data and emotional appeals based on "cute" polar bears supposedly being endangered (actually their population is going up).
With older students, it is an attempt to advocate stealing money by the government under false pretenses, perhaps for careers as Democrat politicians.
You heard of "Poverty Pimps?" These teachers, bureaucrats and politicians are "Polar Bear Pimps."
Ms. Jamison contends that the recent revelations of Climategate - and her experience raising her own children in trendy California - show a need for a nationwide effort to get global warming advocacy removed from our schools. The time for this is now, she contends.
And Jamison is saying:
"We cannot wait for politicians or activists to do any more damage to our future generation. "Global warming" is not just an objectionable and discredited scientific theory. Teachers are grafting the loony climate-change premise onto lifestyle, religion, and politics in "science" classrooms. It cannot stand."
END OF QUOTE
She further states:
"Even if a local school district does not want to accept that 'global warming' has been completely debunked, the argument can be made that the 'theory' is so suspect that it will likely be investigated in Congress, if not in a criminal fraud venue. It cannot be passed off to students as 'settled science.' Insist on removing "global warming" until there is consensus sometime in the future."
END OF QUOTE
Jamison went on to give the example of her daughter in an advanced placement science class being forced to see Al Bore's (I typed "Bore" by mistake, but think I'll leave it up) movie "An Inconvenient Truth," and was taught talking points such as saying the opposition are "flat earthers."
In conclusion, Ms. Jamison urged parents to circulate the Climategate findings amongs your friends and pressure school boards not to teach "global warming" this as settled science/Gospel. I urge all of you to read her article linked to above.
As further example of this sickness turning people "green" - and its marriage to elitist hypocrisy - a few years ago I encountered a California eco-advocate in an online writing course. She stated in one assignment that "the average person isn't doing enough to save the environment," I countered by saying that the average person - by definition - doesn't have the money to buy a Cadillac Escalade that gets maybe 8-10 miles to a gallon. Each student in the class had submitted a biography and her's stated her husband was an airline pilot (big carbon footprint there) and she had spent years chaufering teens to swim meets (a heated pool, I presume - and a large land vehicle). When I mentioned the Oscars being flown out to Hollywood in a private jet from their factory of manufacture in Chicago, she understood her biography had been read. She mentioned her husband's jet pilot work and admitted a neighbor owned a Cadillac Escalade.
But arguing one-on-one is still easier than taking on a school board. But since the EPA wants to regulate and tax CO2 emissions from everything from your lawnmower to factories - to perhaps you yourself http://noworldsystem.com/2009/12/08/epa-to-bypass-congress-to-regulate-co2/ (this will come as news to many who aren't news junkies), then the task of describing the mania becomes easier. Ask your neighbor if they are willing to give up their gas powered lawnmower or have the EPA control their thermostat.
It could make for a lively conversation.
